lunch
at pak ali's: sedap!

Mindy shares: It's a pleasure to have lunch at Pak Alis'
simply because the food there is so "sedap"! (delicious).
Customers get to choose from a simple variety of dishes that includes
fried fish, curry vegetable, fried chicken and chicken curry to
add to their plate of rice or try their traditional Malay specialities
such as "Lontong", "Mee Siam" or "Mee Rebus".
To top if off, sip a glass of tea/coffee while contemplating the
view of the serangoon harbour from where you sit or watch the bustle
the people entering Pulau Ubin from the jetty.
Either way, it is a food experience not to be missed!
Ria salivates: I just LURVE Pak Ali's lontong...the homemade
rice cakes are soft (not the hard plasticky stuff we get on the
mainland) and the gravy is to die for. Rich with herbs and special
ingredients like fish or squid. ONLY SOLD ON SUNDAYS, Alas! And
sells out by 10am usually. The early bird gets the lontong!
I also love their other dishes lovingly created with their homemade
flavours.

Pak
Ali's food stall is right next to entrance of Ubin Jetty, under
the shade of the large Asam Tree.
