camping
on ubin the best in
singapore?

Pulau Ubin is a favourite site for the family's monthly camping
trips because it's 'more exclusive', says Mr Tan. 'At East Coast
Park and Pasir Ris, you don't feel like you're with nature. There
are people playing music and playing games. It kills the atmosphere.'

Andy says: A night on Ubin is anything but boring!
Go to the forum to read about his encounters with owls, bats,
fireflies, pythons and luminous mushrooms. And there's nothing like
waking to the call of birds and the village rooster.
I had been looking forward to the excursion as I've always
wanted to cycle around Ubin for an entire day, exploring her many
mysteries. Our team arrived in the afternoon. After walking a fairly
long distance, we pitched our tents at the camping area and began
cooking dinner. It was a very fun experience to cook in the wild
as we were stripped of our daily conveniences. Making full use of
the basic necessities we have, we put together a decent meal and
most of us enjoyed the food. I believe it was the experiences we
went through together that day, which made the meal taste extremely
sumptuous. Later in the night, we had fun playing games, lighting
up the sparklers as well as chatting with one another. Before we
knew it, the sun has risen above the horizon and shortly after,
we broke camp and returned to mainland Singapore.
