What
I find unique or special about Pulau Ubin |
My
hopes for Pulau Ubin |
| 1 |
it
any a lot of very unspoilt wild life and i think that it chould be
kept that way or else that kind of wildlife may never be found on
singapore again. |
i
hope that pulau ubin will remain the same so that when i go back there
again, i will still be able to see the wildlife. |

|
|
| 3 |
The
natural wildlife living in harmony with the people |
Authorities.
Please leave it alone. We don't need more flats or Sentosa Coves or
Casinos. |
| 4 |
|
|
| 5 |
its
unspoilt nature and a great breakaway from the hustle and bustle of
the city |
To
remain as it is.. so that young people will get to experience first
hand the "old" lifestyle and a great place for parents - children
bonding... |
| 6 |
peace.
the gov already blunder big time at sentosa. |
Hands
off. develop basic necessity. water, sewer, electricity |
| 7 |
it
is the last frontier for wildlife. it has such rich biodiversity and
diverse ecosystems and is increasing the last refuge for wildlife
in the region. we can benefit so much from allowing this refuge to
grow! furthermore, the island has such rich history and heritage and
a culture unique to our past that if this last living fossil of our
heritage is gone, future generations will lose a chance to learn beyond
history books. |
to
develop sustainable and environmentally sound projects to ensure that
the island can support itself financially yet at the same time providing
for the unique biodiversity and culture on the island. not only should
it be left as an "unspoilt" island but there should be work done to
enhance it. development is not a bad thing as long as it is done sensitively
- ecology and historical heritage and culture first before economic
profits which will follow as long as the island is allowed to thrive!
WITHOUT the island and its natural appeal, there will be NO profits!
So please ALLOW the island to be what it is best at - being an island
with an unbelivably rare island kampung culture that we have already
lost on the mainland! My only hopes is that the island will be less
fragmented into use by different agencies but instead managed and
managed well by one agency or a council to oversee everything in a
big picture. Good management is what I hope for the island. |
